Brief Description:  Inboard mounting & Mass Balance

Repeated the mounting process for the inboard flaperons. Unfortunately, the pilot side got away from me and the inboard rear corner hit the concrete and bent. No damage to the rib, so I will probably just round off the corner so it looks ok. The inboard rear corner sits against the fuselage and really doesn't do much aeordynamically, so it should be ok.

Unfortunately, I mounted the inboard part that connects the flaperon segments when I built the flaperons. The outboard half is supposed to be offset 15 degrees from the inboard, so I unriveted it from both sides. Luckily, when I trimmed it for the correct angle, there was room for the new holes without any issues other than matching up with the original holes in the end rib. I was able to use a hole finder strap to get it aligned correctly. After riveting it and adding the bolt connecting the halves, each wing had a full set of flaperons hung (but not connected to controls).

Removed the inboard passenger flaperon half and drilled the holes for mounting the mass balance. Started by positioning the weight and drilling into the leading edge and clecoing. Then for both upper and lower, I drilled out rivets on either side and used a rivet fan cleco'd into those holes to locate accurately the holes on top and bottom, which I drilled. Deburred and set aside for now.

Note from the future: In retrospect, I should not have worried so much about the gap between the trailing edge and flaperons. Things would have fit much better if the flaperons were mounted higher (smaller gap). Should have test fit control rod hardware to try to get good radius on inboard rotation before worrying about outboard.
