Brief Description:  1st START!

Tightened coolant O clamps (except one coolant hose near the top). Connected throttle cable to linkage. Mounted the muffler, which went smoothly. Attached fitting and air filter. Engine oil was simple. Removed and cleaned the gearbox magnetic drain plug. It was covered with grease and already had some metal. After reinstalling the plug, I noticed I had picked up the wrong gear oil, so moved on to the coolant. Unlike the video, there is no easy fitting to fill my engine. I started by pouring coolant into the topmost hose until it wouldn't take more. Then secured that hose and tried to fill with a funnel through the detached reservoir line and made a mess. Finally hung the reservoir and line from a ladder above the engine and squeezed exposed coolant hose lines to force air out of the system. Went to town with the wife to get correct gear oil and lunch, with system filling at a snails pace from suspended reservoir. Got back and could not get more burping from the cooling system, so called it good. Secured reservoir and hose in position on firewall. Amount of coolant taken seemed about right after accounting for spillage. Added 8oz of gear oil to the top of the gearbox and additional to reservoir. Started filling passenger side header tank with fuel using siphon hose and extra fuel line attached to tank. After that was done, I started the fuel pump to clear and fill the line. Nothing came out the engine end. After troubleshooting, I realized I had reversed the leads on the pump and it was sucking instead of pumping. Corrected that issue and cleared the line. Primed the injector pump which made a mess of spilled fuel. Cleaned that up and while the shop was clearing of fumes, got the camera ready to record 1st start video.

Did a final check of connections, and it was time to attempt 1st start.

Battery 1 On
Fuel Pump On
Viking View On (temp avionics switch)
Throttle Idle
Fire Extinguisher Handy
Ignition Start

And less than a second later the engine roars to life! And I do mean roars
