Brief Description:  Header tank mounting continued

Finished drilling the lower mounting for passenger side. Cut some 1X1 1/16" angle from Lowes to use as the crossbar support. Fabricated 2nd lower mounting bracket for pilot side. Positioned the crossbar so the top flange lays on top of the header tanks, but does not cover inlet/vent ports. Drilled and positioned pilot side mounting bracket. Used remaining 1X1 to fabricate reinforcement to lay on outside of crossbeam and against the fuselage side. Marked intersection of crossbeam on both sides. Laid out and drilled holes and cleco'd reinforcements to fuselage. Positioned crossbeam and drilled 2 holes at intersection of crossbeam and reinforcement. Cleco'd all components. Seems pretty rigid already. Marked hole location on crossbeam for 4" clamps to secure tank tops to crossbeam. Need to get some short AN4 bolts for the clamps, but otherwise, it feels solid as a rock. Waiting to rivet until ready to button up. High pressure outputs are facing forward. Should be able to run the lines each side of access panel and tee to a single line going forward. The header tanks have backflow check valves, so the pump switches will act as tank selectors.

In retrospect, I could have accomplished the same thing easier with the 6" tanks which would have been easier to mount on each side of the access panel and wouldn't need the crossbar support. I don't intend to use the headers as "reserve" fuel, so the 6" would have been fine.
