Brief Description:  Started folding console

Started work on making the console fold for easy access to the avionics shelf. Attached piano hinges to the lower edge of the pre-cut panel. This involved removing the bottom flange. Cleco'd in place and test fitted. Marked the point on the undrilled hinge half where the hinge touched the frame bar. Used that to get a centerline and drilled pilot holes in hinge. Riveted the half of the hinge attached to the panel. Clamped assembly into place and drilled through the hinge into the cabin frame and cleco'd. Confirmed position of panel and marked interference point with cabin frame uprights. Cut the ends off the panel to provide unobstructed movement.

Tried to form a piano hinge to the top curve with little success, so I switched tactics and decided to just replace the top flange of the panel with a bent L angle and use nutplates. More tomorrow.
