Brief Description:  Fabricate ELT mount

Today I mounted the tray for an Artex 345 ELT. As a foundation, I used the L angle fuselage support that was the farthest back I could reach through the bottom access hatch. I used another piece of L riveted to that to form the back support. For the front, I used a couple of L's riveted together to make a "C" shape which would be riveted to the floor. I used the pre-drilled mounting holes in the tray to get the spacing. A6 rivets attach the tray to the L mounts. The hardest part was manuvering inside the access panel opening. Lots of cuts and abraisons during this process, but it is as far back as I can get it and still reach it. Positioning the antenna and routing the cable is going to be another fun activity, but thats for another day. If I had it to do over again, I would have done this during the rear fuselage build, but I hadn't made any avionics choices at that point.
