Brief Description:  Lower fin test fitting

Test fit the lower fin skin. It quickly became evident that there is no way the skin overlap will permit a double row of rivets as indicated in the plans. I'm wondering if the lower fin skin C75R3-8 has changed along with the other vertical fin parts which I reordered. I did not get a new lower fin skin when I ordered the rest. If Centurylink will ever repair the DSL in our area I will ping Roger. I guess my other alternative would be to use some of the old fin material to fabricate a backplate sheet to rivet inside the upper and lower skins, but that would need 3 rivet lines. I'll wait and see what Roger says. No rush on that decision.

UPDATE: I finally got over my brain fart and got out my old fin and compared it side by side with the new one. Sure enough, the forward skin on the new fin was pre-cut much farther aft than the original. Placing the original fin on the plane resulted in the lower skin fitting as expected. Obviously there must be a corresponding new cut of the lower fin to match the new shape of the upper fin skin. Will order a new C75R3-8 the next time I have enough to order from Zenith to make shipping worthwhile. I don't really need the lower skin attached until the plane is ready to fly since it is just a covering.
