This was a day to catch up on some miscellaneous wing tasks that I had deferred. These things are easily done when the wings are in the cradle, with the bottom of the wings facing outside. This puts the bottoms at a good height and angle to work on.
On the pilot side, I didn't get the gas tank situated exactly right and the drain valve was touching the edge of the opening in the skin. I used a Dremel tool to elongate the opening to provide clearance.
Also used the Dremel to cut off the end of the tank vent/overflow below skin level on each wing. I plan to do the common fuel cap vent mod, so I won't need these hanging down. Later I will plug the tubes and make a covers for the holes.
Finally, I added dimpled nutplates to the access cover openings so the covers will ride flat on the skin instead of sitting on raised rivet heads. I'm glad I invested in the dimple squeezer and dies.
