Brief Description: Rivet remaining rear fuselage baggage area items
Big rivet day today. Reassembled the remaining baggage areas of the rear fuselage, cleco'd and riveted. Did the interior first, but did not rivet the control tunnel top and bearing panel so they can be worked on later. Then riveted the exterior of the baggage area excluding the forward gusset area. I did notice that in the gusset area, the predrilled holes do not agree in size in for the baggage floor. The forward most floor is drilled to #20 and the gusset is #30. When it is time to do the gusset, I need to upsize those holes in the gusset. The plans indicate A4 rivets, but I'll use A5. Following the HBH DVDs, it is time to start the forward fuselage, although there is still work to be done in the rear later. Also need to start thinking about working on taxes, so it is good to hit this milestone before I slow down the build for a while.
