Brief Description:  Wing Tip, Cradle

This is a catch-up entry for work done since returning from Zenith Open Hangar Days in Mexico, Mo. That was a very worthwhile activity. Got to meet other builders and talk to engine and avionics vendors. Still haven't made those decisions, but got lots of good info.

I haven't had a lot of time to spend on the build since returning, so it has mostly been smaller chunks of time.

One of the first things I did was to work on the wing tip fitting. Turns out I went overboard trimming the plastic and didn't have enough flange for a good fit. I left the outermost holes unriveted in anticipation, but I think I should have left 1 more hole on each line unriveted to make getting the plastic to fit easier. Decided to finish buttoning up with clecos and install fuel lines and a new wingtip once I have both wings at an appropriate stage.

Visited Home Depot and got lumber, straps, casters, etc. to construct a wing caddy to keep them out of the way and easily moved. Took the plans from the HomeBuilt Help tip list. Seems to be working well. Took about 2.5 hours to build, but worth it. Materials cost about $70. Put the wing into the rack bottom side out so I would have easy access to the inspection holes.
