Brief Description:  Bonding Canopy

The big day to bond my canopy finally arrived!

The day started early, as Tracey had a 10K run. Start time...7:00am. No sleeping in on the weekend. I always try to go to these races to cheer her on and get inspired. She works really hard and I'm very proud of her. As always, she made it look graceful and crossed the finish line in great time. Great job,Tracey!

After the race, we had time to grab a breakfast at King's Chef Diner. It's simple blue plate special type food, featuring excellent green chili.

We decided to check out some local venues for our wedding reception next May. One stop was The Mining Exchange in downtown Colorado Springs. It's an historic location with many of the older features preserved. We've enjoyed this facility several times for NewYear's Eve parties. Little did we know, Donald Trump was just there the day before, and got stuck in their elevator! haha!

We took another trip to Shove Chapel, on the grounds of Colorado College, just a few blocks away. This will be our wedding site next year. I hadn't been there before, but Tracey attended several weddings of friends there in the past. It is beautiful and will be a great place for us. Lots of stone and amazing architecture, similar to olde world european churches.

We eventually decided it was time to get some things done. I dropped Tracey off at her house, then headed for the hangar.

Once at the hangar, I jumped in and began finishing my pick list for bonding the canopy. There was a lot to do. Most items seemed small in nature, but in reality took a while. Final frame positioning, priming, checking plexi alignment, masking, scuffing, and so on. Six hours later, I got to a point when Tracey could join me to help.

Bonding the canopy has been a goal for nearly two years. It's hard to believe, but it's been that long. There are a lot of details that made this a reality. For now, I'll just say the moment loomed large, and I didn't want to make any mistakes. I was trying to play it cool, but I think T
