Brief Description: Canopy to bow rail fit and finish....
I didn't like the way the Sika Flex tooled out between the canopy and bow rail. It looked great in most places but other places it was horible! I spoke with Mr. Todd and he said its very hard to get a good looking bead with any adhesive. None of them tool very well. He said once you get a good mechanical bond, don't worry about the cosmetics, use micro filler to make that transition. You can tool it much easier. He said thats the way the Extras are done. So after putting this off for a few months, it's time to start trying to make this look good. I mixed up some epoxy resin with micro ballons and about 8% black colorant from the hardware store. The finish will be black so I wanted to get the filler headed that way.... This is scary....... and a lot of work. Hopefully it will show when I'm done!
Update: After hours and hours of sanding, filling and shaping for days, I figured out how to make this all go much better.......BEER!
