Ailerons - 3 hours
Last night was solo, so I worked on deburring, dimpling, and priming the ailerons. There are a lot of holes and edges to finish!

Ailerons & Wing Skins - 5 hours
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I didn't have my camera in the shop last night, so no pictures this time, but I will post some next time.

I finished building the ailerons yesterday. I am so sore today! There are a ton of CS4-4 pop rivets in the ailerons, and after pulling nearly 100 of these by hand, I feel like my arm is about to fall off. Both ailerons came out great, very straight and flat.

I cleaned up the shop a little after that, then dad came out. We got about half of the top inboard main skin riveted to the wing. One more session with him (hopefully Tuesday night) and I will be able to pull the wing out of the jig. It looks like I will probably meet my Jan 31, 2010 deadline for finishing the wings. Hopefully it will be ready to sell right about the time people are getting their tax returns. All that remains to do is skin the wing (top skins only - I'm leaving the bottom skins off so the new owner can put what he wants in the wing as far as autopilots, pitots, etc goes), do some work on the trailing edge like install hinges and fairings, build the flaps, build the push tubes, and then some final clean-up.

I thought we had installed the tank for the last time a few weeks ago, but alas, we must remove it again. I found some rivets under the tank we missed!

Flaps - 2 hours
Spent a short time in the shop yesterday peeling blue plastic off all the flap parts and deburring all the edges. Boring work!
