Brief Description:  Spinner, Oil, Timing

I put a couple of coats of primer on the cowling and tail fairing in the morning then headed out to the hangar. I installed the spinner back plate and then the nose dome. Since I have to rotate the prop to get the P-Mag timing done I decided to drain the preservative oil out first. Everything was fairly hot since I keep a heater under the engine with a blanket over the top but I also used my sump heater to heat the oil. After draining the oil I installed the quick drain valve; now when I have to drain the oil it is just a matter of a push and turn and the oil will flow out.

I then rotated the prop with the spark plugs removed to get the preservative oil out of the cylinders. After setting up the prop to the timing mark I attempted to time the P-Mags but I can’t get them to go into the set up mode. I called it day since I have to get the trouble guide and or call EMAGAIR to see what might be the deal. I did double check and the wires are correct at the P-MAG but I might have put the wires on the switches wrong. If they are backwards then it will not enter setup mode.
