Brief Description:  Left fuel tank assembly

Sealed up the inspection plate and the fuel pickup fittings tonight. Called Van's and asked if I should plug the large lightning hole in the rib that has the trap door. I have seen many people on the net dooing this and I thought I would ask Van's for there advice. I was also asking about the need of a flop tube. There reply on the flop tube was If I plan on doing inverted flight for extended amounts of time I would then need a flop tube. Also I would then plug the hole in the rib as well. Because I don't plan on doing this I will not need to do the extra work. I also asked about a lubricant for the aluminum fittings called Fule Lube. Van's told me to use any kind of lubricant, even axle grease would work. Just need some kind of grease on the fittings because it is aluminum on aluminum and they will tighten better. I used a small dab of Luberplate that came with my pneumatic rivet squeezer.
