Brief Description: Attached the vertical Stab.....Continued
Made a straight edge from aluminum angle and bolted it to the center hinge bracket on the vertical stab. Attached two strings to the center hole in the F-802N-1 Fwd Upper Brace and extended them to the outboard edges of the aluminum angle. Centered the vertical stab by measuring from the forward spar to the string on each side.
Adjusted the vertical position of the front spar so that the three rudder hinge points were aligned when checked with a straight edge and made sure the F-885 spacer was aligned with the F-884 attach plate. Match drilled #30 the holes in the F-884 attach plate into the F-885 spacer and VS-702 front spar. We couldn't reach the top outboard holes even with the angle drill so we'll have to remove the vertical stab to drill them. Fortunately we trimmed the vertical stab front spar less than specified in the plans because the bottom holes turned out at minimum edge distance.
Drilled and reamed the four bolt holes used to attach the F-884 to the horizontal stab front spar.
