Brief Description: Match drilled the tank attach brackets
There is no way to match drill the top hole in the tank attach brackets from inside the fuselage as per instructions (even with an angle drill) so we proceeded as follows:
Marked out the hole positions on the tank attach bracket and aligned them with the holes in the forward side skin.
Clamped the tank attach bracket to the T405 angle and marked the top hole from inside the fuselage with a scriber. Removed the bracket from the fuselage and center punched the scribe mark and drilled #30 in the drill press.
Cleco'd the tank attach bracket to the fuselage using the top hole and clamped it to the T-405. Marked the bottom hole in the bracket using a #30 angle drill from inside the fuselage. Removed the bracket and completed the hole in the drill press. (I always battle to get a straight hole with the angle drill so I prefer using the drill press) Cleco'd the bracket to the fuselage using both holes and clamped it to the T-405.
The next step is to enlarge the #30 holes to #12 from the outside with an angle drill. Unfortunately we don't have a #12 drill for it, so we'll first have to get one.
Marked out and drilled a #30 hole in the tank attach brackets for attaching the T-405 angles. Once the brackets are bolted to the fuselage we'll match drill the T-405's using these holes as a guide and enlarge to 1/4".
