Brief Description:  Preparation of Rudder

I applied a thin film of epoxy to the trailing edge to try to hold it straight while rivetting. As soon as the epoxy was applied, I clecoed the trailing edge to a length of aluminium angle to hold it true. I then hung the rudder while the epoxy dried. I regret doing this as the end result shows some distortion of the trailing edge due to variations in thickness of the epoxy. I had tried in great detail to avoid this, including the extent of the clecoing of the seam, but i am still unhappy with the result. I think i could have done just as good a job without the epoxy - probably better. However, the end result is adequate, and the riveting of the trailing edge (which I did completely with a hand squeezer) ended up OK.
