Brief Description: Finished Most things on L. Elevator
Finished Trim Tab.
Finished installing Trim Tab on L. Elevator. But, riveting the hinge on the Elevator bent a few of the hinge tabs. Mostly straightened them out, but still tough to get the hinge pin installed.
Still need to install the bearings and fit up to the H.S.
There was a dent from riveting the Electric Trim Brackets in the top of the Elevator. I put in the wood wedge and used the Flush Riveter at low pressure and removed it. There is a bit of a crease lower down that I reduced but couldn't completely remove. Keep an eye on it.
Plenty of travel in the Trim Tab.
Trailing edges very well aligned. Inboard edges well aligned.
Roughed in Electric Trim. The plate needs a little forming to get it to lay flush. Not sure what length to cut the threaded rod. Save for later. Guessing I need to run the servo with a battery and measure the angles....
The holes for the Electric Trim in the bracket on the bottom were slightly out of line. Used a #30 reamer to open them up enough to have the pin go through straight. The brackets must have shifted a little during riveting.
