Began countersinking Left Elevator. Immediately destroyed the E-702 spar as the CS bit walked TWICE. NOW they tell me I need to use a backing plate for countersinking thin parts... New E-702 is on order now ($20 plus shipping).
Need to make a backing plate for the rest to avoid the same mistake.
Also, disassembled the CS cage to use the bit in the drill press. Unfortunately, can't figure out how to put it back together. Can't find a diagram online. Called Cleaveland Tool - they didn't now. Called EAA Tech Counselor. He'll check his tomorrow
