Brief Description:  Riveted Frame and Skin

TOUGH day!

Riveted all parts: Spar, Doublers, Nutplates, Counterweight, CW Rib, CW Skin, Tip Rib, Bottom Rib, and both Skins.

Tough were the rivets inside the Rudder Brace (used a nut to make the tall die taller. The rivets near the narrow end of each rib were nightmares and one still is open. Had to rivet and drill out several times trying different methods. Finally used a back rivet plate under the skin and a chisel on the machine head. Then used rivet gun to pound on chisel. Worked pretty well (thanks Eric at Vans)! One is still open, but need a 7/64" drill bit to open it up and use a pop rivet.

Speaking of pop rivets, one broke mid shaft when riveting on the Rudder Brace to rudder Horn. Took awhile to get it out, but did so without damage. Out of LP4-3 blind rivets. 20 more on order from Vans.
