Brief Description:  Tried to prime, but had to strip everything!

Bought SEM Self Etching Primer (12 oz spraycan and 1 gallon can) and Direct to Metal Paint. Also, bought High Teck Wipeout 7800 Wax and Grease remover. Tried to touch up dimples, but ALL parts needed to be stripped to bare metal. The 7800 caused all the previous primer to lift. Called High Teck and they told me I didn't wait long enough before priming. So I primed another rib after waiting more than an hour, with the same results. They're giving me a free gallon of their primer for free to offset the time spent stripping and waste of more than one can ($20) of primer.

The weather was rainy and 60-65 F. Couldn't find a TDS for the 7800. I requested one.

Also, Vans is sending a new HS710, HS714, and 2 HS00005's. I paid for the 710 & 714 ($21 each +shipping). They said I could just make a doubler plate for the edge clearance on HS00005, but they are sending 2 new ones "on the house."

Spent an hour adjusting the dimpler to give .007" clearance as recommeded by Vans. It's locked down for -3 rivets.

Received AKZO primer today, but still need the Alodine from Aircraft Spruce.
