The plans call for -5 rivets for the bearing. The manual specfically states the -5's "are the correct size". However, the first one I installed didn't meet the width or height criteria. After doing some online research, I discovered that other builders had faced the same issue and installed longer rivets. I didn't have any 5.5 length rivets so I ordered some -10 from Aircraft Spruce. I used the rivet cutter to and cut them to 6 and then sanded down to 5.5. I drilled a 1/8" hole in a pice of aluminum angle and used the angle to support the rivet while while sanding. I'll touch up the cut ends with the alodine pen when I prime the other pieces.
