Put the tape over each rib, two tapes per rib since the tape only comes in 1/2 inch widths and the ribs are one inch wide. Then poked the holes in the fabric with a sharp needle where the stitches will go. When stitching I will use a more dull needle with the tip bent slightly. Did one rib near the gas tank where I had pre drilled the holes through the hysol holding the tank in. Had to come up with a new way of threading the fabric since the hysol was about 1/8" thick. Worked out well. The bubble under the covering will not be seen after painting, I hope.
