Brief Description: Cross country trip to Panama City, FL
I flew my longest trip to date. Winder GA (KWDR) to Panama City FL (KPFN) to visit my 90 year old Dad and show him my plane for the first time. One way was 265 nm. I stopped for fuel at historic Souther Field in Americus GA, where I bumped into fellow Sonex builder Kip Laurie! He was flying a regional jet, and about to pick up Mrs. Carter. Souther Field was an important military field in WWI and WWII and is where Lindberg soloed. I averaged 4.6 GPH during the trip, flying at 5500/6500', 3200 rpm, 115 mph.
