With great trepidation, I make the cuts on the forward and aft sides of the canopy to fit the plane. I used a diamond cutoff wheel in a Dremel, as others have recommended. It's slow going, but safe. After each cut, I sand with the belt sander (120 grit), and then block sand with a 200 grit sanding sponge. After many trial fits, it looks pretty good. To get the fit right, I used a ratcheting tie down strap to bring the canopy tight to the frame. I'm leaving the sides a bit long, and will fit them later. The canopy fit in the picture doesn't look that good because the canopy is not strapped down.
