Brief Description:  Main wheel fairings

I had cut the fairing per the plans a few years ago, when I was in "parts making" mode. Not knowing any better, I had also attached the hinges at that time too. As it turns out, they were worthless. You really just have to make your own patterns and then cut them out per the pattern. I used heavy cardboard folders for my patterns. I made the top of the pattern about 2" wider than the plans so the fairings would have a bit of taper (1") to them - for cosmetic reasons. I also decided to put a slot on the inboard side for the piano wire, rather than fool around with threading it through the fuseslage. I also decided to add a tab of .032, with a nutplate inside the fuselage, to keep the fairing in place. I left the bottom of the fairing to float on the landing gear. It's so snug though on the gear, that it won't weathervane.
