Brief Description:  Engine heads, block off plates

Assembled the rocker arms, using shims as necessary to position the arms a bit offset from the valves. I went ahead and adjusted the valves to .006 while they were sitting there. Torquing the gland nut to 240 foot pounds was a challenge. I braced the engine as well as I could and then had my son lock the flywheel with a pry bar while I put all of my weight on an 18" socket handle. ( I weigh 160 lbs.) That and the loctite should keep the thing together.Finished up for the day by adding the accessory block off plates. I was glad to see that my engine needed a block off plate on the front right that could be tapped for the oil temp sensor. I prefer that location over the drain plug location. You'll need an M14 x 1.5 tap, not an NPT tap as noted in the manual, to tap the hole for the sensor. At this point only the ignition modules and intake/carb are left. My intake manifold and Y pipe are still on back order at Sonex. Time to call Heather tomorrow and find out when they'll arrive.
