Brief Description:  Polish - the saga begins

I'm at a stopping point on the engine, waiting word from Sonex on my clearance issue. Thought I might as well get some polishing done. I keep telling myself that polish is cheaper, quicker, and lighter than paint but man it is a tedious process. It took me about 8 hours to polish the horizontal and vertical stabilizers. I start by a quick wet sand with 1200 grit sandpaper, then about 6 passes with the Nuvite F9, followed by 2-3 passes with the C polish on each surface. I used a cheap variable speed polisher, set at the lowest speed. It still seemed a bit fast so I connected the polisher to variable speed router control that I have. This allowed me to slow it down a bit further. I'll use the final S polish once the plane has been assembled. I also sanded the fiberglass tip seams and filled them with SuperFil.
