Backing plates were made for antennas from 0.04” aluminium. The two comm. Antennas will be installed on the wing’s inboard inspection plate and the transponder antenna on the F-828 Aft Bottom Shin just below the remote transponder which is mounted on the battery tray. These seem the best positions to keep the antennas a minimum 3.5 feet apart, out of the exhaust wake and to minimise shielding.
