The control column assembly took much longer to assemble and install than anticipated. The brass bushings in the control sticks were time consuming to machine to the correct length. AN616 washers was used between the control sticks and column to help stop binding. Much caution was paid to the notes on DWG 79 regarding clearance of the bolt heads and the control wall, and the length of the pilot’s control stick. The extra time spent and the control column is critical to the safe handling of the aircraft.
