Brief Description:  Trim motor on Elevator

I suspect the servo arm actuator operation worked well for the original manual trim design on the elevator. Using the Inboard Trim Tab Horn E-717 as per instructions for the electric trim servo does not; the clevis/cotter pin interferes with the Trim Cover Plate E-616PP. Various builders have sort different solutions to this problem; some have filed the gap larger; not the most elegant solution.

My solution was to bend the actuator arm, fitting some thick walled aluminium tube over the arm as suggested by the manufacturer's instructions; to add strength to the bend area. My instructor agreed and it looks neater. It also solved months of discussion with him.
