Brief Description: Seat Rib Ass. / Fwd Fus. Sub. Structure
The Forward Fuselage Sub Structure was completely corrosion treated, this was carried out by West Middlesex Metal Treatment; A certified treatment centre dealing in such things as Airbus parts. The quality of their work was a slight of pure joy.
Assembling and riveting took the best part of two days. The curvature of the structure made the back riveting slow. The result was worth the hours. Before attaching the Seat Rib Assembly to the Forward Fuselage a protective 3M pastic sheet was put on the underside to protect the beautiful Bottom skins.
Van's instructions call for only certain parts to be riveting at this time but the logic was not apparent in the instructions. All parts were attached at this time for a better finish. No problems to date have been encountered.
