Brief Description: Pitch Auto Pilot / Trim Conflition 1.
The Auto Pilot Pitch mount and Aileron Trim mount conflicted when clecoed to the Forward Left Inboard Seat rib F-814A. On the upside the holes in the rib called for to be drilled in both kits turned out to be already drilled although not all the holes lined up even after double checking, a cup of tea and a night's sleep. The rib mounting flange of the AP was cut off and a new one made to fit on the opposite side. This new flange extended to the face of the remaining mount and bolted on between the AP and the remaining mount. My instructor agreed that this will give additional strength.
All ended up looking like a thing of beauty; the trim rod will be treated in red to celebrate; a juicy bit of bling.
