Frustratingly, the Elevators needed more weight. The fairing caps were removed and extra weight was added to a MS24694-S70 screw which was drilled into the lead cap, with a countersunk washer under the head. A large washer was used under the nut.
Also, a Click Bond was adhered to the tooling hole which allows large washers to be installed on the outside of the counterbalance rib E-702 with an AN-3A bolt; the balancing was done with one such washer. This enables the final weighing to be done easily by adding or subtracting a washer. This should make the final vital balancing a no stress issue.
