The Naca Scoop was adhered to the inside of the bottom skin with the fuel tank sealant after the skin was riveted on. To hold the scoop in the right place three nutplates were place on the scoop enabling it to be screwed on with MS24693S4 machine screws during the curing of the sealant. This also should ensure the scoop will not peel away from the skins in years to come.
