Playdo was used to mask off nutplates and other such areas prior to spraying. It’s easy to apply, goes semi hard and is easy to pop out. The sparying of the end of the spar was a mistake; the primer was removed later as the tolerances are too tight for the spar to be inserted into the fuselage with paint on. Duralac was applied around the bushing of the aileron hinge bracket prior to assembly. Duralac was applied to a range of parts where moisture could penetrate, such as the underside of the spar.
