Brief Description:  Riveting Wing Skins

The Right Inboard Top Wing Skin and the Wing Walk Doubler were riveted onto the Wing Ribs and Main Spar with Ishan's help. We used a backriveting technique with Ishan holding the bucking bar on the outside (manufactured head of rivets) while I drove the shop heads from the inside of the Wing. We had to correct (sometimes replace) a few rivets and the results look very good. I felt it was best to start riveting on the Wing Walk end for Ishan to gain experience and confidence in the process. Any blemishes in the skin on the Wing Walk would be obscured with a friction covering, so I was not overly concerned. As it turned out, the skin suffered no damage from Ishan's bucking bar. He learned quickly and was a great help today. We still have to rivet the skin to the Main Spar. Another day.
