Built wing stand pretty much as shown in the drawing... except I decided to to secure the 4 x 4 uprights to the ceiling... instead, I found that the steel support columns in the basement are remarkably plumb (within .05-.06 degrees) and decided to strap the uprights to the columns. The stand is very strudy and very plumb. I made two wing spar supports from aluminum angle stock, a turnbuckle, a threaded rod and a few bolts (Image 2). Very simple to micro adjust and lock with a jam nut on the lower part of the turnbuckle.
