The leading edge of the rudder must be shaped by rolling the extensions of the left and right rudder skins. After reaching the correct shape, the rivet holes needed to be matched drilled, deburred and dimpled as usual. All rivets used to join the halves are pop rivets. There are three sections to the leading edge and the topmost section is quite semicircular and the bottom section (Image 2) is more oval in shape. This is shown in the drawing detail. The leading edge of the faces into the aft end of the Vertical Stabilizer and has limited exposure to the airstream. I did a trial fit of the Rudder to the Vertical Stab... Just to see it. Still need to adjust the bearing rods... later for that.
