The same procedures were used here as were used on the rudder trailing edge. I'm pleased with this method as it yields excellent results. I allow the clamps to squeeze the edge for a few hours before riveting. The skins are dimpled and the AEX wedge is countersunk on both sides to accept the skin dimples. 3M VHB (Very High Bond) Tape is used on both sides of the AEX wedge. The sandwich is: Top Skin - VHB - AEX Wedge - VHB - Bottom Skin. After a few hours excess tape actually squeezes through the rivet holes a little. Kind of a little bubble of VHB material. I ran a #40 drill carefully through the holes which rolls up the glue and clears the hole.
