I bought a drill press from Harbor Freight that looked to be substantial enough. I went to Metals Supermarket to get a 12" piece of 6160 AA6-187 x 2 x 2 1/2" Aluminum Angle for about 8 bucks. Exact same material that Van's provided. Van's only provided a 5" piece, so I didn't have enough extra material to re-fabricate on of the angle I was not happy with. If I ever need stock material in the future, I will use Metals Supermarket rather than pay cross country shipping when ordering from Van's. New HS908L came out fine.
