Brief Description:  Installed control hardware

Today the package from Wicks arrived with some of the missing hardware items so I spent the evening installing control hardware in the wing and fuselage. The flap return springs are real strong. It almost seems like too much for the flap torque tube but I'm sure it's not. If you look at the aileron bellcrank you will see 2 large flat washers. These weren't called for on the plans but I decided to put them on after seeing them on another builders website. There are 2 bearings in the bellcrank at the pivot point. In the unlikely event there should be a total failure of the bearings the large washers will hold everything together. Losing aileron control at 5000' would be bad.The next "must do" item is to fabricate and install the cable retainers on the aileron pulleys. I decided to scrap the steel cable retainers and go with aluminum. I ordered some aluminum from Aircraft Spruce and hopefully it will arrive before the weekend.
