Brief Description:  Installing wings on fuselage III

With both wings bolted to the fuselage it's time to set the dihedral and make the wing lift struts. Using a water level we checked and adjusted the fuselage to make sure it was level from side to side. Then again with the water level we adjusted the wing tip up or down until the wing tip was exactly 2 29/32" higher than the root. The Smart Level confirmed that the wing had exactly 1 degree of dihedral. With the strut fittings bolted in place on the wing and fuselage we measured the distance from bolt hole to bolt hole, subtracted 3" then cut the struts to length. The manual says this measurement should be approx 79 1/4". When all three of us measured 79 5/16" we figured we must have done something right so we went with it. Earlier in the week I had bought a chop saw blade for my mitre saw. This blade worked great for cutting the strut. One word of warning though, This blade puts off a lot of dust and I was feeling hot particles hitting my hand that I was using to hold the strut. Everyone in the vicinity of this operation should be wearing appropriate breathing and eye protection. I used a full face sheild and a dust mask but gloves aren't a bad idea either.
