Brief Description:  Rudder cables

I have run the rudder cables. The turnbuckles to adjust the cable tension is behind the baggage compartment bulkhead. The first picture shows how the cables attach to the rudder pedals using the steel extension plate that AviPro recommends. Without the extension plate the cable shackle interferes with the rudder pedal horn when the pedal is pushed foward. The second picture shows the cable attachment at the rudder horn. The two small tubes you see are rudder stops. They will be tapped and AN3 bolts will be installed. In the third picture I'm testing the action of the rudder pedals. I have the seat all the way foward in this picture but I will be able to let the seat back a couple of notches during flying. Notice in the picture that with my heels on the floor my toes don't reach the brake pedals. I have a bad habit of subconciously riding the brakes when I taxi so having the brake pedals higher up should eliminate this tendancy. Now the elevators and rudder will come off of the airplane to make more room to move around in the garage, er, I mean hangar.:-)
