Did a little cowl work.
I fabricated and installed a pocket in the back to hold books, maps, etc.
I put the cowl back on. What a job. Had to get help from someone else. It
fit fine before .. and now it's extremely tight. Very hard to get to pin on the bottom. It's like the top and bottom seams need about 1/4 inch more material to meet right. I didn't cut anything off either of them. Just like they came. Don't know what I'm going to do there. The cowling and baffling will easily be the single most time consuming thing on the plane.
A milestone ....
After cowling it up I did the first taxi test down the runway. Our runway is 4800 ft long .. so I went down to the other end and back. Got it up to just under flying speed. Everything was fine .. temps ok .. hydraulic brake setup worked great.Went down the runway straight.
