First off I finished my storage compartment behind the seat. I used some channel and made protective supports around the elevator push rod as a safety measure. The floor of the compartment is just held down with velcro so it can be lifted up to see the union in the push rode. Next I added a 22,000 mf electrolytic capacitor to the charging circuit to try to head off any noise in that line. I then started working on the cowlings. I cut the two cylinder head cooling holes and the slot at the back for the exhaust. A Dremel with a small cutoff wheel made that pretty easy. I think the cowling is going to be one of those time consuming things that you just have to go real slow if you want it to turn out well.
