Brief Description:  Tail assembly

Today was one of those days that things just go slower than you think they should. I fit the elevator control push rod so I could check for clearance around the control horn. First off .... it took me a couple hours just to get the two pieces of the control rod to go together. I cleaned, stripped paint, polished .. everything I could think of .. before I finally got them together. Then there was interference with one of the angles on the fuseleage on down elevator. The fit of the parts around this area is mediocore at best. I have every measurement according to the plans. From looking at other peoples logs .. it's not just me. Sonex needs to get this redesigned so these parts actually fit together. You shouldn't have to be grinding on parts THEY supply to make them work together.
I finished installing the rudder ... riveted the two hinge halves to the fuselage .. drilled the cotter key holes .. did a little grinding to get full travel on the rudder to each side. Then I drew a center line on the top of the vertical stab and rudder and made sure I have 25 degrees to each side.
Then I worked on the two larger farings. I'll probably remake the right one .. it just didn't bend right in a circle.
