First off I cut the hole for the nose steering control rod in the firewall. Then I went to work on the main landing gear mounts. I spent quite a bit of time thinking about how I'd approach it. First off .. I remade one of the support angles. I'm not sure why the plans have you drill this before you have the landing gear mount as a reference. It was off just a little and it was easy to make a new one. I decided I would start with the surfaces that have bolts thru them .. since they'll position the mount primarily. I leveled the plane so I'd have the floor as a reference (floor's level). I clamed both gear in place and adjusted them so they were in matching positions on both sides and the gear were both the same height above the floor. I then started drilling the holes and placing temporary bolts and nuts in them. I kept checking the position on both sides as I went. So far so good.
