I started out by finishing cutting the head studs to allow clearance of the valve train. I then installed the intake tubes. Then I worked on the valve train and getting everything to line up right. I assembled the lifter assembly to get the right lateral and up and down positioning of the lifter on the valve stem. I then used the push rod tool to calculate the length needed and then cut the pushrods. Getting the ends in the cut pushrods proved to be a challenge. I ended up polishing them, cleaning up the inside of the cut pushrod with a round file, then heating the tube end. The right side is all done and adjusted. The lifter assembly is setup for the left side and the pushods are cut. Tomorrow I'll work on getting the pushrods assembled and the whole thing put together and set. When I determined the pushrod length I verified it on two valves on that side. I re-measured for the other side the same way. I did find a slight difference in the length required on each side of the engine.
