Riveting stuff: Apart from sporadic practice with riveting guns and bucking bars I have zero experience with solid rivets. These aren't the run-of-the-mill pop rivets you buy at super cheap auto. These need to be controlled from both sides and driven to certain tolerances (1/2 x D high and 1.5 X D wide when driven).
So I'm very happy to have put stiffener angles on all 46 nose ribs (184 rivets) and only had to drill out 2 rivets. I'm going to call that beginners luck!
I had intended to use my pneumatic rivet squeezer to drive these rivets, but am having issues with setting it up. I have ordered an adjustable set holder for it to make it more user friendly. Until then I'll be using the rivet gun and bucking bars. I need the practice anyway, given how much riveting is yet to come.....
